Major champion Smith leads solo on day one of LIV Golf UK

 Cameron Smith (Australia), the winner of last year’s British Open Golf Tournament, took the lead alone on the first day of the LIV Golf UK Tournament.

On the 7th (local time), Smith won the first round of the 2023 LIV Golf 9th Tournament (total prize money of $25 million) held at the Centurion Club (par 71, 7,047 yards) in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. He pulled out 8 birdies without looking메이저사이트.

Smith, who recorded 8-under-par 63, rose to first place by one stroke ahead of 7-under-par Mark Leishman (Australia).

Smith was active on the American Professional Golf (PGA) Tour even when he won the Open in July of last year, but transferred to LIV Golf at the end of August when the PGA Tour 2021-2022 season ended.

After joining LIV golf, he won a tournament in Chicago last September.

Following Smith and Leishman, Thomas Peters (Belgium) ranked third with a 5 under par 66 strokes.

Taylor Gooch (USA), who won three victories in the LIV Series this year alone, finished the first day with Cameron Tringalli (USA) and others with a 4 under par 67 strokes and a tie for 4th place.

Guchi is the only player to have won 3 wins in LIV Golf, which was launched in June of last year.

Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson (above USA) won 2 wins each.

Koepka, who climbed to the top of this year’s PGA Championship and became the first LIV player to win a major tournament, finished tied for 33rd with a 1-over par 72 that day.
