Seong Yu-jin defeated Park Hyeon-gyeong to win the KLPGA Doosan Match Play (overall 2 steps)

Seong Yu-jin defeated Hyun-kyung Park, a fellow of the same age, and reached the top of the Korean Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) tour.

Seong Yu-jin won the KLPGA Tour Doosan Match Play Championship (total prize money of 900 million won) held at Ladena Golf Club (par 72) in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do on the 21st in the final match against Hyun-kyung Park by 4 holes.

With this, Seong Yu-jin succeeded in her second career victory following her Lotte Open in June of last year, her first win in her life.

Seong Yu-jin stood at the top with 7 consecutive wins without losing once, including her 3 group stage matches.

She also changed the way she competed and became the player to win after playing 109 holes, the fewest since 2017. Until 2016, it was a round of 64 tournament.

Eugene Sung, who finished runner-up at the Lotte Championships on the US Women’s Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour last month, continued her upward trend by winning her domestic event.

Seong Yu-jin took her prize money of 225 million won and 60 grand prize points.

Seong Yu-jin, who reached the final by defeating ‘defending champion’ Hong Jeong-min in the morning semifinals, took the lead with three consecutive birdies on the 2nd (par 5), 3rd (par 3) and 4th (par 4) holes.

He also added a birdie on holes 12 (par 4) and holes 13 (par 3) and hit a wedge.

Seong Yu-jin said, “I thought I should play well in each hole, and I’m really happy to be rewarded with good results.”

“My goal was to improve every year and become a better player than last year,” she added.

He said that the caddy’s help in winning was great, “There are times when I have difficulty breathing when I am physically tired. It is a symptom of a long-distance flight recently.” It was fun to play.”

Regarding her left thumb injury, she explained, “Today, every shot I took was painful. But I tried to focus on each shot, thinking there was no tomorrow.”

Seong Yu-jin, who said he would donate part of the winning prize money to youth golf, said, “I hope that young players will receive more attention and grow their dreams while watching these seniors.”

“My goal is to successfully defend the title,” he said, heading to the Lotte Open two weeks later. “My biggest goal this season is to win the Hanwha Classic, the main sponsor event.”

Park Hyun-kyung tried to win the KLPGA Championship in May 2021 after two consecutive wins, but could not surpass Sung Yu-jin.메이저사이트

In the match for 3rd and 4th place, Hong Jung-min and Na Hee-won were unable to decide the winner in the first overtime, ending the tournament in a tie for 3rd place.
