SF Corp, veteran’s achievements shone… Second career shutout

Veteran pitcher Alex Cobb (36) of the San Francisco Giants showed off his strength with a shutout.

On the 25th (Korean time), he started the home game against the St. Louis Cardinals held at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, USA, and led the team to a 4-0 victory with 6 hits and 4 strikeouts in 9 innings.

109 total pitches (70 strikes). He gave up only one walk.

Cobb enjoyed the joy of his second shutout victory of his personal career along with his first win of the season. Cobb’s previous shutout came against Oakland in August 2012 while with Tampa Bay.

In the bottom of the 7th inning, where the score was tight 0-0, San Francisco took the lead with Mitch Haniger’s sacrificial fly ball in the bottom of the 7th inning, and then JD Daves’ 3-run wedge helped Cobb win the shutout.

Cobb has started 5 games this season and is recording a good record with an ERA of 1.91 with 1 win and 1 loss.
